What minimum water pressure do I need for a Zip HydroTap for Work?

Before installing a Zip HydroTap in an office or commercial kitchen, it’s important to check the incoming cold-water pressure at the proposed installation point.

As a general guide:

  • Boiling & Chilled Zip HydroTap: minimum 1.7 bar water pressure

  • Sparkling Zip HydroTap: minimum 2 bar water pressure

Requirements can vary depending on the exact HydroTap model, configuration and filtration, so we always recommend confirming the specification for your chosen system before installation.

What if my water pressure is below the minimum?

Low water pressure doesn't necessarily mean you can't install a Zip HydroTap. We recommend asking your plumber or FM team to investigate whether the cold-water supply can be brought within the required operating range. They can check for restrictions in the existing supply and advise whether a suitable pressure-boosting solution is required.
